GRANT LANGSTON
| 06.13.2006 |
Grant Langston, the musician in CHANCE, talks about Amber's first movie. ----------------- Marilyn: Hi Grant! Welcome on the website of our 1st festival. Grant Langston: Hi! Here you go, happy to help. Marilyn: Did you enjoy playing in CHANCE? GL: I enjoyed it very much. It was a very "on the fly" sort of experience. Low-budget and full of people who were working because they loved the project not because of the big paycheck. Marilyn: Was it the first time you played in a movie? GL: I have done some low-level "band playing in the back of the scene" kind of film stuff. But this was the first time that i had such a prominent role. At the time it seemed all very low-key and easy, but when I went to the screening and saw my face 12 feet across a very large screen it was terrifying. Marilyn: How was it to work with Amber? GL: She was imaginative, and positive, and accomodating. A very nice blend of knowing what she wanted and being willing to consider other's opinions. The whole thing really was a pleasure. When I was recording the songs, she came over to the studio. I just introduced her as Amber and when she left the engineer said, "Your girlfriend is nice." I said, "Buddy, that's not my girlfriend. That's the director of the film!" she was so kind and unassuming that he never dreamed she was giving me notes throughout the session. Marilyn: Have you seen or read other Amber's works? What do you think about Amber, the Artist? GL: I know she's written a play, "Albert Hall"...I know she's writing books and comics... That's too much talent in one person! Marilyn: Could you say a few words to Amber's fans? GL: My first word would be "Thanks!" I've heard from so many of you all over the world. You've bought CD's, and let me know how much you liked the music in CHANCE. I really appreciate that. It's pretty amazing to think that I played some music in Amber's apartment for a few days, and now it's all over the world. Amber's really lucky to have such a great group of supporters. Marilyn: What about your current and future projects? GL: In the spring I released a new album, "Koreatown". We did a tour of the UK and France and have been playing in the states since then. We are planning a return to the UK in September, and perhaps Germany. I've contributed some music to a film called "Efflorescence" that should be out in a few months...and I've re-vamped my website, www.grantlangston.com. You can keep up with all my happenings there, and of course i have a my space page at www.myspace.com/grantlangston. My band and I have been very busy. Marilyn: Thank you very much Grant for your time and your kindness. CHANCE - Amber's first movie. DON'T MISS IT!! http://www.chancemovie.com Copyright 2006, Marilyn & Benson Entertainment.
